{Worth} Am I worthy?!

Written By: Taylor Horner

Worth taylor august

This year has been one incredible year for me. I have managed to get engaged, graduate with my bachelor’s at a university, become an auntie, I am in the process of getting married, we are settling into our first home, and I was accepted into my Masters program at the university! After all these successes I cannot help but think- am I worthy of all these blessings? It is so strange how some years in our life can be filled with blessings, and others can be filled of heartbreak.

Our blessings and our heartbreaks are not based on whether God deemed us worthy to have an awesome year or not. Our God loves to bless us, but He also has to challenge us to grow in our relationship with Him, this can lead to us going through some situations that cause sadness, but bring knowledge.

So let me just say this first. YES, you are worthy of being blessed because God loves to bless us. This does not mean that you deserve every hardship you come across; we all go through rough times. Some rough times we bring on by our own actions, others happen for reasons of growth in our faith in God, but these hardships do not decrease your worth.

When you are blessed rejoice, and when you go through hardship- continue to rejoice, just like Job in the Bible. Your worth should not decrease because you have had a bad day, bad week, bad month, or a bad year. There are plenty of people who see you as very worthy of their love, attention, and joy. God sees you worthy enough that He let His son die for you, even though none of us deserved it. How incredible!

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”

Remember today, no matter your past, present, or future. There is a God you can lean on. You deserve blessings, you deserve love, and you deserve to grow in your relationship with God. You deserve all these things because you are worthy.

Until Next Time,

~Taylor

{Worth} Give up.

Written by: Kerrington Sweeney

IMG_2378

A weary, defeated, ragged soul stood before me. A soul that was in pieces scattered around, limp with no life left within her. Failure. Defeated. Worthless. Were the words so often spoken in her mind, on a vicious cycle that seemed to never end. She was numb to the Lord’s presence. She had no emotional balance. She was in a place of utter chaos and complete ridiculous confusion…A season of wandering, searching, and questioning, if she even had a purpose anymore was set before her. Would she begin to take up the quest in hope of finding true purpose once again or would she continue to lay limp, life-less in a state of dark defeat?

This weary soul felt no reason to pray. No reason to read her Bible and not even an ounce of reason to attend a Church service. She was tired. Weak. Ready to honestly… give up. What was the point anymore? She thought.

This soul, sad to say…was my own. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally collapsing on a daily basis. No strength to fight against the fiery attacks from the dark enemy. He came attempting with all his might to steal, kill, and destroy me. Oh, and did the attacks ever come…In these moments, tears of overflowing abundance came rushing in. As I sat up in bed one night, sharing this stressful struggle with my Mum, I felt so ashamed not being able to get through this season on my own.

My Mum though, shared such great amounts of profound wisdom with me. It was said in such a way of Love and never at all made feel shame or defeated. She was a true beacon of Light and Hope that night. I now step back and look at the entire situation and the healing process journey, I am now on I stand in awe, The Lord was with me every single moment.

Romans 5:8 “I loved you, at your darkest hour.”

A realignment and complete shift was taking place in my Life. A brand new purpose and an intimate calling was being birthed directly into my weary heart, into my very spirit. I would either embrace this, with open arms wholly surrendered or I would be shaken to the very core and tested on my every move. God was calling my heart deeper and I honestly was struggling trusting Him through it all.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans of prosperity and not for evil. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”

This verse was a bright light to me. I sat in awe of my Heavenly Father, as He showered me with such great amounts of His tangible unending love…All the moments of chaos and the many feelings of utter defeat…I didn’t even need to worry, because God has special plans and a great purpose in mind for my life before He even knit me together in my mother’s womb. He had and still has plans for me. He knew that I would go through this season and He knew that I would come out of it a stronger woman in my Faith. For everything there is a time and a season. Trust Him…As hard as it gets. Trust God with everything you’ve got and NEVER Give up!!

Until Next Time,

{Worth} …Failure!

Written by: Kerrington Sweeney

Reading that title your heart may be weary and heavy-burdened but, I am here to reassure you; There is a beam of light and of hope, at the end of this dark tunnel.

Failure…It’s just one of those things that even the strongest, most intelligent, most confident of us fear. Whether it’s starting a new endeavor or succeeding at the one you’re currently in, it’s difficult to escape the concern in the back of our minds, that we might just screw up and fail.

The feeling of complete failure, to be honest… Is still something I daily struggle with. Feelings of worthlessness and not measuring-up have crept into my weary heart.

The lack of self-confidence and fear of failure is a built-in strong-hold on so many of us women folk. It holds us back from fulfilling our God-given dreams and desires. It is something created by Satan, himself to attack us from doing God’s will on the earth and distract us in our Walk with Christ.

“How do I overcome these feelings of failure?”

As I too questioned this, I dug deep into the word. I was promptly reminded of the verse founded in
Psalm 46:5(a) it reads…
“God is within her, she will not fail.”

This verse truly inspired me. Yes, we will still fail at times, we are all human but, Christ died 2,000 years ago and took all the blame. The feeling of failure is not something that will stay on you forever, because He took your feelings of failure away and He washed you white as snow. He took every mistake, every regret, every lie, every dark valley, every failure, He took it ALL.

Though the feelings of failure, will still occasionally rise in our spirit man, we can live knowing that we have a God that is believing in us.
And He (Creator of the whole universe, I might add) is proud of us!!
If He is for us, then who shall be against us?

Until Next Time,

{Worth} Never doubt your Worth.

Written By: Amy Gauvin
WORTH AMYHave you ever questioned your worth? Your worth as a Woman, Mom, Wife, Friend, Employee, Sibling or just simply your worth as a human being?  When this question/dought arises in us…we tend to be compelled, to compare ourselves to whatever brought this question on.
In our society now, there is a world of things to compare ourselves to. We don’t even know, we are doing it sometimes. As an example…you are waiting in line at the checkout, your looking at the stand of magazines and see these gorgeous women on the front cover…with a perfect shape, perfect tan, perfect hair…etc.
We stand there and think to ourselves…hmmm, how can I look like that!?
I have done this from time to time. It actually deminished my self worth. It took me to a place of depression, because I didn’t look like a cover girl! I began to nit pick at all my “flaws”and wanted to change. Really???
Snap out of it Amy!!! I am just as pretty and stunning as those ladies on the magazine! I have alot to offer! God perfectly made me…and all of you BEAUTIFUL ladies 🙂 We each have our own uniqueness about us, which makes us different. He designed each of us with our own gifts…which ladies….makes us all WORTH ALOT! We all gain from one another because of it! Its amazing how He puts us all together like puzzle pieces…We are the same (heart)….but look so different (uniqueness).
I am going to share a story that happened with my daughter. She came home one day, and needed to talk to me about something that happened at school with a boy. I could see it was weighing heavy on her. This boy liked girls that swear…
(I have raised my girls knowing that cussing, is not acceptable, and its not words God would like us to choose.)
My daughter wanted to get his attention and knowing this about him, started swearing that day at school. She knew it just wasn’t right, what she had done.
I asked her why she did, and her response was “she wanted him to like her”.
I continued to ask “Did he end up liking you or did you get his attention?”
She said “No…he was the same as he was before”.
My babygirl doughted her worth….I explained to her that she was feeling “sad” because she changed who she was and who God created her to be for a boy to like her. She wasn’t sad because he didn’t blink an eye at her after she changed for him.
She realized she had grieved the spirit within her. God didn’t want her to change who she was. She learned that day that she is awesome, just the way she is because… God made her special and unique in her own way. Never change who she is for anyone. Always be led by the spirit that lives inside of her and she will shine.
In closing,  I want to say to all of you lovely ladies that you are AMAZING! You are all diamonds in this world! Never loose your uniqueness and self worth for anyone. Never question if your “good enough” or dought your worth. Always be “YOU“! You have so much to offer to this world. Let the spirit inside of you SHINE for everyone to see! You are perfectly and wonderfuly made!
Always remember that! 😉 XOXO Peace, Love and Joy
Until Next Time,
~Amy

{Worth} You are ALL Worthy!

Written by: Taylor Horner

Today, I want to encourage and remind all of you beautiful women that you are worthy to be loved, to feel beautiful, to have great friends, to be apart of fun opportunities, and you are most importantly made worthy through God’s forgiveness to go to Heaven!

Many of us have days were we get down on ourselves because of possibly something negative we did or just because our self esteem is very low that day.  I want to remind you all that we make mistakes! We are only human, so we make bad decisions sometimes that we can learn from so that we do not make those impulses again. Just because we make mistakes doesn’t mean we can’t ask for forgiveness. You can! Through the grace of God you can be forgiven and God forgets that your sin even happened!

Wouldn’t it be lovely if our families and friends could forget our mistakes once we ask for forgiveness? I want to encourage you all to not feel disappointed if someone chooses to not forgive or holds a grudge against you. Take the opportunity to attempt to make things right, but if you have done all you can and this person won’t forgive you it is time for you to forgive yourself! Forgiving yourself is very important so that you feel worthy of God’s love and others love around you! Sometimes we loose relationships because of things we have done, but I want to remind you that we are not perfect! Do not stress yourself out to be perfect; God does not expect perfection from us! It is okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn from them and choose not to do them again!

Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

Girls can get the reputation of being very judgmental of each other, but it is up to us to break this cycle. All of us girls are worthy and deserving to be treated fairly. We are called to love others just as God loves us, and this includes loving yourself. No matter what others say, God says you have massive worth! God loves you and has an AMAZING plan for your life. Never forget your worth and the worth of others around you. Build each other up, don’t tear each other down! You all are worthy!

Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Remember this verse as you go through your week: We are called to love, not judge and this includes loving ourselves! Be aware of your worth!

Until Next Time,

~Taylor

{Worth} His.

Written by: Marnie Pouget

I am a photographer and scrap booker. A writer. A baker.  But I am not a crafty person. At all. I try. And fail. I want to be crafty but rarely do my attempts turn out pretty or even useful. My sister is a creator. She has done it all in the crafting department, it seems, and everything she puts her hands to is beautiful work. Ceramics, toile painting, upholstery, stained glass, pottery. She finds beautiful craft ideas and just does them. I am envious of people who can create naturally because I just can’t.

However, the day my sister told me that she was expecting their first child, I decided I was going to knit a sweater with a matching bonnet and booties. I had never picked up a set of knitting needles in my life BUT I was determined to teach myself. And I did. I bought a beginner knitting book with great diagrams and instructions for a lovely sweater set. I bought the yarn and needles prescribed. I painstakingly followed the directions provided, often referring to the pictures and I managed to “cast on” the correct number of stitches.

I had no idea about knitting a swatch to make sure my knitting was the correct size. And when I read that recommendation, I thought it was such a waste of time. I tried to run the yarn through my fingers but the feeling of it annoyed me so I didn’t. My mother told me that my tension would be off. I didn’t care.

In spite of all of my inadequacies, after a significant amount of time, I managed to knit a beautiful sweater set for my lovely niece. When her brother came along, I had to be fair and knit him one also. But I didn’t like knitting enough, so that pretty well ended my knitting projects. I feel slightly guilty that I have never knit a thing for my own children.

Through that experience, I learned that knitting is a two-handed process with a purpose. I can barely knit well with two hands, I wouldn’t want to try with just one. And honestly, I think knitting with no purpose is just a waste of time……and yarn.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 When you were created, God had his hands all over you. You were created with intention and purpose. You are “fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 139:14b.

He chose your parents – the right parents for you. Not the perfect parents. They aren’t perfect (but neither are you). But the right parents. I realize that for some, this is a hard pill to swallow. Your parents are not only not perfect but they are so far from perfect, that it is hard to understand why you were placed in their family. But you were.

He chose your siblings for you. When he placed your siblings in your family, you weren’t an afterthought. No “oops what was I thinking putting this child in the same family as (insert your name here). Your siblings are an important part of who you are and who God has you to be. You have a purpose and responsibility in their life and they have a purpose and responsibility in yours. Don’t miss out on the blessing and joy of your siblings or the important relationships you should have because you are too busy questioning God’s wisdom in placing you together.

1 Corinthians 1:25 reminds us “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” I don’t always understand His ways or purposes but just as I see a bigger picture of life’s circumstances than my children, I know that He sees and understands the bigger eternal picture of our lives.

You were born in this time and place in history for a reason. There are things for you to do and things for you to learn. Don’t waste your time bemoaning your circumstances and miss the opportunities and lessons God has for you.

As a work is completed the artist adds his mark, identifying it as his own. The painter adds his signature, the potter adds her stamp. The photographer adds a watermark. It’s important. An artist’s work is their creation. A reflection of themselves. A precious piece of who they are. They created this work and it is theirs.

You are the creation of the Master Artist. Made in His image. A reflection of who He is. As a wise friend, Bob Tissot, says, “You are a unique, unrepeatable masterpiece of God.” He created you and you are His.

Until Next Time,

~Marnie
